About this tool
A plain resize spreads the same pixels over a bigger area, so the picture gets soft and blocky. This upscaler makes the picture bigger in steps of 2x with a high-quality resize and sharpens it after each step, leaving the smallest differences alone so noise does not grow. For designs with flat colours it goes further: it finds the design's own colours, and every pixel close to one of them takes exactly that colour - the blur of the resize and the blocks of a JPG are gone, and the edges are crisp, the way a print should look. It takes seconds and runs in your browser; your picture is never uploaded.

How does the upscaler work?
The picture is made bigger in steps of 2x with a high-quality resize and sharpened after every step. For designs with flat colours, every pixel close to one of the design's own colours takes exactly that colour - soft, blurry edges become clean and sharp, and JPG blocks disappear. It takes a few seconds, in your browser.
Design or photo?
Design is for prints, logos, motifs and artwork with flat colours: the colours are cleaned and the edges become crisp. Photo is for photos and pictures with smooth shading: it is enlarged and sharpened without changing the colours.
What is "Sharpen (same size)"?
The picture keeps its size; blur and JPG blocks are cleaned away. Good for a design that came over WhatsApp.
How big can the result be?
Up to 7000 pixels on the long side.
Will it make a design print-ready at 300 dpi?
A design made for the screen is usually too small for print. 4x makes a 1000-pixel design 4000 pixels - at 300 dpi that is about 34 cm instead of 8 cm, with sharp edges.
