About this tool
A raised print catches the light on one side and throws a shadow on the other. This tool gives a flat design that look: it raises every colour shape from the background (or the lighter parts more), softens the edges into a bevel, lights it from the direction you choose and lets the raised shapes cast a soft shadow on the ground. Turn the light, change the depth and softness until it looks like your emboss, puff print or carving. Everything happens in your browser - nothing is uploaded.
Questions
What does the 3D effect do?
It makes a flat design look raised from the cloth or paper - like an emboss, a puff print or a carving: each shape gets a light edge towards the light, a dark edge away from it and a soft shadow.
Colour shapes or lightness?
Colour shapes raises every shape that is not the background colour - best for prints and logos. Lightness raises the lighter parts more - best for photos, textures and engravings.
Can I change the light?
Yes - turn the light round with the angle, make the shapes deeper, softer or sharper, and switch the shadow on or off.
Is my design uploaded?
No. The effect is made inside your browser, on your own computer.
