About this tool

A border is a motif repeated along a band. Here one motif becomes a border: side by side, mirrored (every second one flipped) or turned over (every second one upside down), with lines above and below in the motif's own colour. The border's repeat - one or two motifs and the gap - joins end to end without a line, so it can run along any length. See it as a band or round a frame with the motif in the corners, and download the repeat, a strip and the frame. Everything happens in your browser - nothing is uploaded.

Questions

How do I make a border from a motif?

Add one motif: it is repeated along a band, with lines above and below in its own colour. Choose side by side, mirrored or turned over, set the size and the gap, and download the border's repeat - it joins end to end without a line.

What is in the download?

The border's repeat as a PNG (to repeat in your design software or for printing), a long strip to see it, and the border round a frame with the motif in the corners.

Can I change the colours?

Yes - the background and line colours start from the motif's own colours; choose any others.

Is my motif uploaded?

No. The border is made inside your browser, on your own computer.
