About this tool

An all-over print is a few motifs spread over a tile that repeats. Add one or more motifs: their plain background is taken away and they are spread over the tile - scattered so they keep apart from each other, or set in a grid, half-drop or brick - turned and sized a little differently if you like. Motifs that cross an edge of the tile come back on the other side, so the tile repeats without a line. Shuffle for a new arrangement and download the tile. Everything happens in your browser - nothing is uploaded.

Questions

How do I make a pattern from motifs?

Add one or more motifs (flowers, leaves, buttas, icons...). They are spread over a tile - scattered, or in a grid, half-drop or brick - and the tile repeats without a line. Shuffle until you like it, then download the tile.

Can I use different motifs together?

Yes - add as many as you like with "+ Add more"; they take turns across the pattern.

What happens to the motif's background?

A plain background round each motif is taken away, so the motifs sit on the pattern's own background colour. Untick "Take away the motifs' background" to keep it.

What is in the download?

The seamless tile as a PNG at the size you choose, and a preview of four tiles together.

Are my motifs uploaded?

No. The pattern is made inside your browser, on your own computer.
