About this tool

Colour transfer gives one picture the colours of another while its shapes, shading and texture stay as they are. The natural way measures the colour feel of both pictures - their average colour and how far the colours spread - and moves the design's colours to match the photo's, so it suits photos and textured prints. The matched way finds the main colours of both and gives each colour of the design the photo's colour of the same lightness, so it suits flat prints with a few colours. Lower the strength to mix the new colours with the old. Everything happens in your browser: nothing is uploaded.

Questions

What is colour transfer?

Giving a design the colours of another picture - a photo, a fabric swatch, a mood board or another design - while its shapes, shading and texture stay as they are.

Natural or matched colours?

Natural moves the whole colour feel of the photo onto the design and keeps the shading smooth - best for photos and textured prints. Matched colours gives each main colour of the design the photo's colour of the same lightness - best for flat prints with a few colours.

Can I make it softer?

Yes - lower the strength to mix the new colours with the design's own.

Are my pictures uploaded?

No. Both pictures are worked on inside your browser, on your own computer.
