What is a half-drop repeat?
Every second column of the motif is moved down by half its height, so the pattern runs diagonally and the joins are hard to see. It is the most used repeat for saree and dress prints. A brick repeat does the same sideways, row by row.
How do I check that my repeat has no visible joins?
Switch on "Show the joins" - every tile edge is drawn as a thin line. Look at the full fabric at a small size: a bad join shows up as a straight line or a gap running across the cloth.
What do I give the printer or the CAD software?
Download the repeat tile: the smallest piece that repeats seamlessly in the layout you chose. Set the tile size in cm and the DPI, and the file is ready for digital printing or for your CAD software.
Is my design uploaded?
No. The repeat is made inside your browser, on your own computer. Your design never leaves your PC.
