About this tool
A passport photo has to be an exact size - 35 × 45 mm in India and for most visas, 2 × 2 inch for the US - with the head about three quarters of its height. This maker puts a frame of the right shape over your photo with a head oval and an eye line, so you can place your face the way the rules ask, then saves the photo at that exact size at 300 dpi. It can make a plain background white or light blue, and lays out a print sheet - 8 photos on 4 × 6 inch, the normal photo-lab size, or 30 on A4 - with cut lines. Everything happens in your browser: your photo is never uploaded.
Questions
What size is a passport size photo in India?
3.5 × 4.5 cm (35 × 45 mm) for the Indian passport and most visas and forms; a US passport photo is 2 × 2 inch (51 × 51 mm). Choose the size and the photo is made exactly that size at 300 dpi.
How do I place my face correctly?
It is done for you: the face is found and placed by the passport rules - the head about three quarters of the photo's height, the eyes on the line. You can still drag the photo and zoom to adjust.
How do I print passport photos at home or at a photo lab?
Choose "Print sheet": 4 × 6 inch gives 8 photos (the normal photo-lab print), A4 gives 30. Print it at 100% size - not "fit to page" - and cut along the light grey lines.
Can it make the background white?
Yes - choose White (or light blue). An AI that runs in your browser (Google's MediaPipe) tells you - hair, face, body and clothes - from the background, so the background is changed and you are not, with clean hair edges. Even light and a plain wall give the best result.
The online form wants the photo under 50 KB - what do I do?
Download the photo, then make it the size in KB the form asks for with our passport size photo resize page.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo is made inside your browser, on your own device.
